Volunteer Information

Our volunteers make Camp Dragonfly the success that it is! Each volunteer is carefully selected. These men and women are trained volunteers from every walk of life who have two things in common: they care about children and they understand grief. There is an excellent camper to staff ratio, often one volunteer for every two campers.

The professional staff and the advisory board of the Hospice of the Shenandoah direct the camp program including the staff training and development.

If you are interested in becoming a camp volunteer, you will be required to attend the volunteer in-service, have a health screening, and criminal background check completed. You must be a person who cares about children and understands grief. You may choose to volunteer for the entire weekend or just one day. We also have volunteer needs that may only take a couple of hours such as registration.
