Radiation Oncology

Augusta Health's state-of-the-art digital Radiation Oncology Department is staffed by board-certified radiation oncologists, ONS-certified nurses, licensed radiation therapists, a certified medical dosimetrist and a certified medical physicist.

We have a dedicated CT simulator with 4-D organ motion detection, a Computerized Treatment Planning System capable of generating conventional, 3D conformal, and IMRT plans; a block and mold room; and two highly sophisticated linear accelerators capable of delivering technically advanced, targeted radiation therapy.

Patient records and planning images are stored, viewed and manipulated electronically. This advanced integrated approach ensures a complete and seamless flow of information among all team members. Plans of care can be delivered exactly as designed with minimal risk of error.
