American Sign Language Class

Ann Belisle invites anyone who is interested in learning basic sign language to her weekly 2011-2012 beginners' class from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, starting Monday, October 17 and ending in May. Instruction will be held in the Agape Room of the Education Building of First Baptist Church, 301 South Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro. This fun, interactive class will include conversational communication and education about deaf culture. Participants also will experience the challenge of meeting and communicating with those who have a hearing loss during a "Silent Supper" at a local restaurant. Some colleges are now recognizing American Sign Language as a second language because it is very much part of our culture as a diverse society. Pre-registration is not required for this free class.
