Advisory Board

Duties of the board include:

1. The Board will see that the patient is placed at the center of service, and maintain the dignity and privacy of the patient through the dying process.
2. The Board recognizes the needs of the families of the terminally ill and will see that the Hospice provides services determined to be beneficial.
3. The Board will promote understanding of the team approach to caring for the patient/family that includes physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and other needs during the final stages of illness, dying and bereavement.
4. The Board supports continual improvement of the quality of services provided.
5. The Board supports the Hospice staff by providing continuing educational opportunities.
6. The Board recognizes the stress that may accompany care of terminally ill patients and provides support for staff and volunteers as needed.
7. The Board supports and encourages the role of volunteers and recognizes the contribution of volunteers to the team concept of holistic care.
8. The Board plans for disbursement of memorial and other Board funds to carry out these responsibilities.
