Blue Ridge Healthy U for Diabetes Prevention
Blue Ridge Health U is a diabetes prevention program proven to prevent or delay Type 2 Diabetes. We can help you lose weight, become more physically active, and reduce stress.
Participants attend weekly meetings for six months, followed by bi-weekly or monthly meetings for the final six months. With a CDC-approved curriculum, a trained coach, and support from peers, you will learn the skills you need to succeed!

Diabetes Self-Management Education Program
Patients receive the tools they need to better manage their medical condition and feel healthier through individual evaluation and group education classes. Our program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
Certified Diabetes Educators create customized care plans addressing:
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Meal planning
- Medication management
- Prevention and treatment of complications
This program is also open to individuals with other medical conditions that can be improved through nutritional counseling and intervention.
Medical Nutrition Therapy
Registered dietitians provide nutrition counseling on a variety of topics and conditions, such as:
- Weight management (including overweight/obesity and bariatric surgery)
- Vascular diseases (including heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure)
- Gastrointestinal disorders (including IBS, celiac disease, and cirrhosis)
