"To me, Augusta Health is the heart and soul of Augusta County. The mission, vision, values and promise are very closely aligned with my own personal values."
Dolly, Director – Patient Access Services
Operational excellence is essential to the health and well-being of any hospital system. Day-to-day, 24/7 behind the scenes, support is provided by several Non-Clinical Support teams. That's why Augusta Health hires dedicated Non-Clinical Support professionals who understand the importance of their roles. Their expertise, skills and willingness to serve others provide vital support to our patients, their families, our staff and every person who enters our doors. Similar to our clinical professionals, they have the opportunity to learn, grow and advance in their assigned area, learn new skills, and for some employees, transfer into a role that involves direct patient care.
The Administrative professional staff provides essential support for our patients and community and works in every area of the hospital, interacting with our patients, visitors and staff. Regardless of your previous administrative experience, we have opportunities ranging from entry level to Executive Assistant.
By doing your best in Environmental Services, you will create a positive reflection on Augusta Health and enhance the patient and visitor experience. Key positions in this area require cleaning and/or floor care experience, preferably in a hospital. We also have Team Leader and Management opportunities. We've had several employees who advanced into patient care, becoming CNAs and Phlebotomists. We also have great benefits, including discounted fitness. And because we are a community hospital, you will feel like family.
The Maintenance staff is a very cohesive and professional team that has developed specialized expertise with the mechanical and electrical systems that are unique to our hospital. Our Mechanics, Electricians, Electronics Technicians and Plant Attendants perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks that have a direct positive impact on patients, visitors and staff. Team members who earn professional trades licenses are recognized for their accomplishments. Our low turnover in this area is a testament to the fact that this is a good place to work.
It takes significant teamwork to prepare and serve 2,000 meals across patient and retail operations, and we make it happen every day. Here, you will develop lifelong friendships as you enjoy the satisfaction of providing the meals that are an important component to improved health. Key positions include Patient Services Staff, Retail Staff, Production Team and Catering Team. We offer additional training and opportunities to advance in other areas. And healthcare is one of the few areas in food service where significant employee benefits are available from the employer.
Patient Access Services
Patient Access professionals at Augusta Health provide quality support services to patients, providers and payers prior, during and after the healthcare experience. Key functions of the department include scheduling, registration, pre-authorization for services and financial advocacy. Patient Access is generally the first experience for the patient and often sets the tone for the entire visit. We have a comprehensive training program and also offer certification with the National Association of Healthcare Access Management at the associate and management level to eligible individuals on our team. We aspire to provide excellent customer service, improve patient satisfaction and optimize the front end of the revenue cycle.
