Digital breast tomosynthesis, also known as 3D mammography, is the most advanced technology available, as it provides the radiologist with a three-dimensional image where abnormalities, calcifications and dense breast tissue can be found and treated. Currently, Augusta Health has only one "tomo" unit located in the Women's Imaging Center on the main campus, and one at the Urgent Care facility in Stuarts Draft. Augusta Health is committed to investing in additional 3-D mammography technology to help women in our area find breast cancer in its earliest stages; the Augusta Health Foundation needs your help to raise $250,000 towards this critically important effort.
Proceeds from Augusta Health's Casino Night event will help to provide funding of this new technology and help women in the fight against breast cancer! Join us on October 11, 2019.
