The duo photo is Mary Mannix (left) with Betty Puffenbarger, recognized for her 50 years of service to Augusta Health and our community. Betty is a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and Blue Ridge Community College, and began her employment with King's Daughters Hospital on June 26, 1966 when gas was 32¢ per gallon, the Beatles and the Monkees were the hot groups and Star Trek and How the Grinch Stole Christmas were first seen on TV. Betty started as a part-time clerk, then become full-time, and currently works in the Business Office. She is known for her quiet disposition and her willingness to assist others. Betty enjoys doing things for and with family and friends, going to and having yard sales, reading, taking a walk, working in her yard and flowers, day trips and mini vacations—all the simple blessings of life.
