Augusta Health and Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield Reach Agreement

Augusta Health and Augusta Medical Group announce they have reached a four-year agreement with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield effective July 1, 2018. The hospital, urgent care centers, its physicians, and all services will be back in network with Anthem.

We extend our gratitude to our patients, local employers, and families for their understanding and encouragement throughout this challenging time. Our goal has been to secure the future viability of Augusta Health for the community. To that end, significant progress was made toward that goal.

During the last six months that Augusta Health was out of Anthem's network, we were able to help approximately 10,000 Anthem patients receive the care they needed. The AHAMAC and Augusta Health website will remain open to assist patients with questions during the transition period to in-network status with Anthem. Patients seeking a Primary Care physician visit should call 833-AHC-HLTH ((833) 242-4584) for the first available appointments.

We thank the employees of Augusta Health, the medical community, and the community at large for supporting us through this Impasse. Their support, patience, and encouragement allowed us to stand up and strengthen our community health system.
