Augusta Health-Lexington continues to expand its practice through the addition of physicians and services. The practice is located at 55 Comfort Way, Suite 1 in Lexington. The office phone number is (540) 463-3381.

Two new physicians, Colleen Arnold, MD, a board-certified family practice primary care physician, and Jessicah Collins, MD, an endocrinologist, joined the practice in September.

Dr. Arnold will see patients on Tuesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays. Dr. Collins sees patients on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Dr. Arnold earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her family medicine residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, where she was chief resident. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Arnold has a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry.

As an active physician in the community, Dr. Arnold has served on the Medical Ethics Committee at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital, and is a volunteer medical director for Rockbridge Area Hospice. She also volunteers with the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic, the Child Abuse Response Team and the Rockbridge Haiti Medical Team. Dr. Arnold also works part-time at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Lexington.

"I am really happy to be able to practice medicine right here in my own community, taking care of people I have come to know over the past twenty-five years of living here," says Dr. Arnold. "Although I met many of them in the Emergency Department during my years of practice there, it is exciting to look at things from a new perspective: Keeping them healthy and well—and out of the Emergency Department!"

After attending the College of William and Mary, Dr. Collins earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia. She completed her internal medicine residency at Yale University-New Haven Hospital and the University of Virginia, then completed a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Virginia. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society. Dr. Collins' professional interests include all endocrine matters, such as Type I and Type II Diabetes, thyroid disease and thyroid cancer, osteoporosis, adrenal disease and hormone problems during pregnancy.

Previously, Dr. Collins was an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at the University of Virginia. She also served as an AmeriCorps volunteer. In her free time, she spends time with her husband and two daughters and friends and family. She enjoys exercising and teaching Sunday School.

"I feel extremely fortunate to join the Augusta Medical Group. I have felt very welcomed by the dedicated and caring individuals at this practice. I know that our patients appreciate the kindness and expertise of our staff and colleagues. I am pleased that we can work together to serve patients in the Lexington area," says Dr. Collins.

In addition to these new physicians, several of Augusta Health-Lexington's physicians are also accepting new patients. They include:
