Enough DAISYs to Make a Bouquet
The DAISY award, recognizing nursing excellence, was first awarded to an Augusta Health nurse in February of this year. Since then, three other nurses have also been recognized for their skill in treating patients not just clinically, but from the heart. The four DAISY nurses are Brittany Lovell from the Emergency Department, Pamela Mathews from Hospice of the Shenandoah, Emily Clements from the Inpatient Surgical Floor and Kristi Williams from PCU. They have gone out of their way to provide comfort to patients, meet their needs, and make sure families are confident in the care their loved ones are receiving.
These nurses, nominated by both patients and co-workers, impress patients with their positive attitudes and extraordinary kindness - and for their ability to listen and understand patients' fears and concerns.
