FISHERSVILLE, VIRGINIA— Augusta Health is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 healthcare scholarships, awarded each spring to support local high school seniors and adults pursuing higher education in healthcare-related fields. Through the Kent-Holbert Scholarship, the Augusta Health Nursing Endowment Fund Scholarship, and the John B. Davis Scholarship, Augusta Health invests in the next generation of caregivers and leaders committed to improving the health and well-being of our community.
“These scholarships reflect Augusta Health’s mission to support and strengthen the healthcare workforce of tomorrow,” said Krystal Moyers, Administrative Director of Community Partnerships and Communications of Augusta Health. “This year’s recipients have demonstrated not only academic excellence, but also a deep commitment to serve and compassion—qualities that are essential in healthcare.”

2025 Scholarship Recipients

  • Riley StewartAugusta Health Nursing Endowment Fund Scholarship
    This renewable scholarship was created by an anonymous donor to support a high school graduate pursuing a career in nursing. Inspired by a lifelong dedication to healthcare, the scholarship honors the importance of compassionate nursing care.

    Riley, a 2025 Wilson Memorial High School graduate, plans to attend Liberty University to pursue a degree in nursing, with the goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

  • Asia KnightJohn B. Davis Scholarship
    Named in memory of former Augusta Health Board member John B. Davis, this scholarship supports students pursuing a degree or certification in healthcare or allied health fields, recognizing a strong commitment to service and community.

    Asia, a 2025 Wilson Memorial High School graduate, plans to attend Virginia Tech to study biochemistry and build a career that contributes to advancing medical science and care.

  • Iris ChenKent-Holbert Scholarship
    This renewable scholarship honors Kenneth Nelson Kent, Summerson B. Holbert, and Nannie B. Landes Holbert. It supports students pursuing higher education in healthcare or healthcare-supporting fields.

    Iris, a 2025 Wilson Memorial High School graduate, plans to attend the University of Virginia to become a physician.
