Bio:
Before starting my residency, I completed medical school in 2017. In 2018, I fulfilled my compulsory social service in Miraflores, Guaviare. In 2019, I traveled to New Zealand to learn English. In 2020, I began working in Bogotá as a general practitioner in an outpatient clinic, while saving money to start my USMLE journey. In 2021, I officially began preparing for the USMLE steps, and in 2023 I traveled to the United States to take Step 3 and complete my clinical rotations. In 2024, I returned to Miraflores, Guaviare, to practice again as a general practitioner and provide care for the indigenous community.

  • What are your clinical areas of interest?

    Outpatient medicine with underserved communities. I am interested in pursuing a fellowship, potentially in Geriatrics or Infectious Diseases.

  • What is a fun fact about yourself?

    A fun fact about me is that I had a black dog with a little white spot on his chest—he always looked like he was wearing a tuxedo.

  • What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

    I love classic video games and still play them from time to time. I also enjoy running and try to do it whenever I have the energy.

  • What attracted you to Augusta Health?

    I was drawn to this program because of its patient population, its role as a community-based hospital, and especially its staff, since my interview and second look, they truly made me feel at home.

  • What do you like about Virginia?

    I really love the scenery and the food! I’ve found so many Latin restaurants here, and they make me feel at home.

    I am from Colombia, and I am very proud to be in this program. It is very IMG-friendly and makes you feel at home all the time.
