Bio:
After completing medical school, she was a medical officer in Karachi in the ED, COVID ward, and ICU. In the US, she completed medical student rotations in Orlando FL, Brooklyn NY, Houston TX and Chicago IL. She collaborated with scientists in Los Angeles to study cellular and molecular pathways with implications for neurodegeneration and hepatocellular cancer. She volunteered as a global health officer with UNICEF in Pakistan where she led an effort to eradicate polio in a remote region. She monitored for polio outbreaks and provided education due to vaccine hesitancy. Her research project was to design a smart pill bottle that improves medication compliance and uses sensors to monitor real-time medication use. She is a “cat lady” and has rescued 10 cats. She has family in Virginia.
