Nathan Haywood, MD

Dr. Haywood is currently completing a fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center after serving as Chief Resident in General Surgery at the University of Virginia. Dr. Haywood's career includes extensive postdoctoral research through an NIH T32 fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at UVA. His scholarly work spans over 20 peer-reviewed publications and numerous national presentations, focusing on cardiothoracic surgery, ischemia-reperfusion injury, surgical outcomes, and robotic surgery education. With a strong foundation in clinical surgery, academic medicine, and surgical education, Dr. Haywood is committed to advancing patient care through innovation, quality improvement, and mentorship.
