Transportation Services

A stretcher being unloaded from an ambulanceTransportation Services assists patients requiring non-emergency medical transportation to physician offices, medical centers, nursing home facilities, dialysis, and radiology treatments that require ambulance or medical wheelchair transportation. You should book our vehicle in advance whenever possible to reduce any time delays, since we also assist community volunteer rescue squads who need extra help during busy times.

We serve the Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County areas. Our ambulances transport patients between Augusta Health and other medical facilities including, but not limited to:

  • Bath County Community Hospital
  • Medical College of Virginia
  • University of Virginia Medical Center
  • Roanoke Area Hospitals
  • Sentara (RMH)
  • Western State Hospital
  • Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center

If you ever need emergency care during transport, the Ambulance Transport Team includes:

  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • EMT Cardiac Technician/EMT Intermediate
  • EMT Paramedic

Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance may pay for transportation for certain medical conditions or if you meet certain criteria. Otherwise, this service is provided on an out-of-pocket basis.
