What You’ll Do:

CT Technologists perform a wide variety of scans covering the entire body. Using advanced CT technology, they produce high-quality cross-sectional images—or “slices”—that help diagnose conditions such as strokes, aneurysms, and many different types of pain.

Qualifications:

  • AART certification in Radiology (required).
  • AART certification in CT (preferred).
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Virginia state license (preferred)

Career Path:

Most CT Technologists begin in general radiography (X-ray) and transition into CT through on-the-job training. Augusta Health offers CT training programs for qualified team members. Career growth opportunities include specializing in areas such as cardiac CT, advancing into lead technologist or section supervisor roles, or moving into department management.
