Marty Fontenot, PT, DPT, EdD, OCS, SCS
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Marty Fontenot lives in Charlottesville, Virginia. As an orthopedic physical therapist, Marty is dedicated to helping patients recover from injury, improve function, and return to the activities they enjoy.
In addition to treating patients, Marty serves as a full-time Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mary Baldwin University’s Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences. His clinical interests include orthopedic rehabilitation and physical therapy education, and he is passionate about mentoring the next generation of physical therapists.
Marty is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and APTA Virginia and serves on the board of The BridgeLine, a Charlottesville nonprofit that supports adults living with traumatic brain injuries.
His guiding philosophy is: “My ‘why’ is to show up physically, mentally, and emotionally for my patients, serve with purpose, and improve the lives of those within my influence.”
Outside of work, Marty enjoys coaching youth soccer, officiating high school basketball, and spending time at the beach.
