Augusta Health Recognized Among Virginia’s Top Hospitals by Forbes

Recognition builds on previous 5-star rating and national Forbes Top Hospitals designation

FISHERSVILLE, VIRGINIA — Augusta Health has been named one of Forbes 2026 Top Hospitals by State. This award recognizes hospitals that provide excellent patient care, strong clinical results, and a positive patient experience.

Earlier this year, Augusta Health was also named to the inaugural Forbes Top Hospitals 2026 list, earning a 5-star rating. It was the only independent community hospital in Virginia to receive this honor, showing its dedication to excellent local care.

The Forbes Top Hospitals by State list features the top eligible hospitals in each state, ranked by Forbes’ national hospital star ratings. This year, 781 hospitals across the country received this recognition. Forbes created the rankings using quality data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). They considered patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value of care, and patient experience. Patient outcomes, including survival, infection, and readmission rates, were the most important factors.
