Augusta Health values the skilled and compassionate nurses who care for patients at the bedside, in the procedure room, and in outpatient settings. These clinical professionals touch the lives of thousands of Augusta Health patients and families every year.

But it is not easy to train and retain the best and brightest in the field. With nursing shortages nationwide, generous donors, retired nurses, and current employees support nursing through their gifts to the Augusta Health Foundation. Nursing scholarships and Augusta Health’s Nursing Excellence Fund provide for professional development of our nurses to help keep them on the cutting-edge of personalized care.

“As a teenager, it was my dream to become a nurse. My father died when I was 15 and I knew that there was no money available for me to attend nursing school. I received a scholarship from Waynesboro Community Hospital that allowed me to pursue my dream and go to nursing school. I love Augusta Health and feel not only gratitude, but a sense of indebtedness for making my dream a reality. I am proud to serve as the Employee Giving Campaign Chair.”
