Why did you choose your specialty area?
My career has made me acutely aware of the importance of our skin. Without an intact layer of skin, we are prone to potential life threatening infections and put ourselves at risk for amputations. I enjoy bringing my years of studying the healing process of our skin to every patient interaction.

How do you spend your spare time?
My wife and I like to travel. We enjoy museums and concerts. I bike, play racquetball, and golf for exercise.

In order to have healthy skin, we have to guard against developing diabetes and control our blood sugars aggressively if we have diabetes. We need to watch our weight by careful attention to our food choices and by exercising regularly.
