Bio:
Renowned in his field, Dr. Asfa performs a broad spectrum of plastic and reconstructive procedures and has a special interest in aesthetic cosmetic surgery with an emphasis on facial, nasal, breast, and abdominal surgery. He is particularly interested in body contouring following massive weight loss surgery and also performs highly specialized breast and skin cancer reconstruction procedures. In addition, Dr. Asfa performs the most advanced non-surgical in-office aesthetic procedures, including liposuction, FaceTite, Bodytite, Morpheus8, CoolSculpting, fat transfers, and injectable treatments including Botox, Xeomin, Juvederm, and Radiesse.

Education:
Residency: Dr. Asfa completed his general surgery residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where he also served as Chief Surgical Resident.
Fellowship: He then moved on to complete a two-year plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) in East Meadow, New York, where he served as Chief Plastic Surgery Fellow.
Medical School: Dr. Asfa attained his medical degree from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Isfahan, Iran, and graduated in the Top 1% of the national college pool.
Fellowship: After working for many years as a private general practitioner in Iran, as well as serving as a Lieutenant and Chief Medical Officer for the Iranian Army, Dr. Asfa moved to the United States to pursue a surgical career. As part of his plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship, Dr. Asfa trained at the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (now New York Plastic Surgical Group), which is the largest and longest continuously-running practice of its kind in North America. Dr. Asfa worked in its multiple Centers for Excellence, including: non-invasive skin care and age management; cleft lip and palate repair; facial reanimation; microsurgery and peripheral nerve repair; comprehensive facial and body cosmetic surgery; burns and complex wound management; hand and upper extremity reconstruction; and comprehensive aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.

Board Certifications:
Dr. Saied Asfa is Board Certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons
Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a former board member of the Virginia Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Professional Memberships:
Member, American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), serve on the committee that writes the in-service exam for board certified plastic surgeons, preceptor for local nursing and PA programs

  • What is a fun fact about yourself?

    I served as the chief Medical Officer in the Iranian Army, and was also a sports medicine consultant for the Iranian National Soccer Team (I was also a goalie in University)

  • What is something about you some may find surprising?

    I also over see a medical spa (Ziba Medical & Day Spa) which is located in the same building as my practice.

  • What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

    Boating, astronomy & astro-photography, flying helicopters
