The mission of the Augusta Health Psychiatry Residency Program is to create and foster an exceptional education for Psychiatry trainees that emphasizes compassionate care and clinical science, bolstered by community partnerships and sustained by an enduring focus on academic excellence. Key to this endeavor, the residency program strives to promote curiosity, professionalism, diversity, trainee well-being, collaboration and community involvement, graduating compassionate, ethical, and competent physicians.
Our residency features a comprehensive, developmentally structured didactic curriculum spanning all four years of training. The curriculum integrates foundational psychiatric knowledge, advanced clinical skills, systems-based practice, and professional development, preparing residents for modern psychiatric practice across diverse settings.
Welcome to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley! We are proud to call this gorgeous place home. Here you can hike the Appalachian trial, explore the farmers’ market, take in musical or theatrical performances in Staunton or Charlottesville, discover the rich culinary flavors of a diverse restaurant scene, play tennis or take a pilates class at the fitness center and make a quick trip to Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; or Roanoke, VA.
Resident physicians work hard to care for the community while being challenged to learn the complexity of internal medicine. Our comprehensive and competitive benefits program are our way of thanking you for being a part of us.
